Product Overview: Permanent Solution for Steering Lock Failure

This emulator provides a permanent solution for the common "ELV (Electronic Steering Lock) Failure" or "Steering Column Fault" warning found in BMW F-Series vehicles (F20, F30, F15, etc.).

This fault may prevent the vehicle from starting or cause the ignition system to become unresponsive. Repairing or replacing the original motorized steering lock is often expensive.

The emulator permanently eliminates the issue by simulating the faulty original mechanical Electronic Steering Lock (ELV) unit that operates via the LIN Bus network. Since it contains no mechanical motor that can fail, it ensures that this problem will never occur again.

No Programming Required

The emulator itself does not require programming or vehicle-specific coding (unlike some Mercedes W204 emulators). Once connected, it immediately sends a "steering lock active/working" signal to the vehicle. In this sense, it is truly Plug & Play.

Step-by-Step Installation Instructions

1. Disconnect the 4-pin connector from the faulty original ELV (Electronic Steering Lock) unit.

IMPORTANT: If the steering lock is stuck in the locked position, the lock mechanism must first be mechanically removed.

2. Connect the emulator's connector to the vehicle's original wiring socket.
3. Connect a professional diagnostic tool (ISTA, Autel, etc.) to the vehicle.
4. Access the FEM or BDC module and clear (reset) all fault codes and steering lock counters related to the Electronic Steering Lock.
5. Start the vehicle.
